The MRI Technologist schedules patients and prioritizes exams based on clinical need, reviewing orders and patient EMR for safety concerns. They prepare the patient and room, explain procedures, transfer and position patients, and observe during exams to ensure quality imaging and patient safety.

Requirements
- ARRT certification in Radiography and advanced MRI registry (ARRT (MR)).
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
- Knowledge of human anatomy and physiology as applied to MRI imaging.
- Ability to operate MRI equipment and PACS systems.
- Experience with patient positioning and transfer techniques for MRI.
- Understanding of MRI safety protocols, including screening for contraindications.
- Strong attention to detail for reviewing orders and patient EMR.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts as needed by the department.
Responsibilities
- Schedule patients and prioritize exams based on clinical need.
- Review and verify orders before beginning exams, and review patient EMR for safety concerns.
- Prepare patients and rooms for exams, explain procedures, and transfer and position patients using proper lifting and transfer techniques.
- Perform clinical evaluations of patients and execute exams as specified in physician orders.
- Observe patients and equipment during procedures, reporting any unusual occurrences to the Imaging Supervisor.
- Deliver all images to PACS and ensure receipt of exam dictation.
- Rotate through other imaging departments and assist staff to meet patient care standards as needed.
