Join Pediatrix Medical Group as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer in the Maternal-Fetal Medicine Clinic, performing high-risk MFM ultrasounds. Support patients and physicians in a collaborative care environment. This full-time role offers a Monday–Friday schedule with no weekends or holidays for excellent work-life balance.

Provide diagnostic ultrasound for patients in the Maternal Fetal Medicine setting, working independently and with healthcare team members. Perform detailed fetal anatomical surveys, including twins and triplets, acquiring data for physician interpretation. Assist with procedures such as amniocentesis and chorionic villus sampling.

Work closely with perinatologists, providing preliminary reports and reviewing studies to communicate findings. Accurately document exam findings, measurements, images, and procedural details in reporting systems. Ensure compliance with protocols, accreditation, and patient safety standards.

Prepare patients by verifying identity, reviewing history, and explaining procedures for comfort and reassurance. Maintain ultrasound equipment, supplies, and examination room laundry. Rotate to other locations as needed and perform related duties as directed.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited sonography program with a degree in ultrasonography or equivalent
  • ARDMS OB/GYN eligibility
  • CPR certification
  • At least two years in Allied Health Educational Program and one year on-the-job training in ultrasonography
  • Ability to provide diagnostic ultrasound in Maternal Fetal Medicine setting
  • Knowledge of high-risk fetal anatomical surveys including multiples
  • Compliance with universal precautions, OSHA standards, and safety training
  • Experience assisting with amniocentesis and chorionic villus sampling procedures

Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed fetal anatomical surveys, including twins and triplets, acquiring anatomical, pathological, and physiological data for physician interpretation
  • Assist physicians with procedures such as amniocentesis and chorionic villus sampling
  • Accurately document exam findings, measurements, images, and procedural details in ultrasound reporting and image archiving systems
  • Generate clear, comprehensive preliminary reports for interpreting physician review and final signature
  • Review completed studies with interpreting physicians to communicate findings and support diagnostic accuracy
  • Prepare patients for ultrasound examinations by verifying identity, reviewing history, and explaining procedures
  • Maintain proper operation of ultrasound equipment and adequate inventory of supplies
  • Follow accredited laboratory protocols for two-dimensional images, color flow, Doppler, and m-mode
