Requirements

Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer or Registered Cardiac Sonographer certification required.
Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
Ability to perform all echocardiography procedures under the direction of the Medical Director and Team Leader of Cardiac Testing.
Knowledge of ECG equipment and ability to maintain supplies.
Skill in identifying and correcting for artifacts during procedures.
Ability to review patient records and instruct patients effectively.

Responsibilities

Performs diagnostic electrocardiograms and all echocardiography procedures in accordance with the doctor's written order.
Attaches electrode lead lines to proper body areas based on the type of test ordered, preparing skin and surroundings to ensure valid results.
Obtains and documents ECG readings as directed, identifying and correcting for artifacts.
Reviews patient's record and instructs patient prior to and during procedures.
Monitors patient during procedures and reports any abnormal findings to the attending physician.
Notes and forwards results to attending physician for analysis and interpretation.
Maintains ECG equipment and supplies, and performs clerical duties specific to ICAEL quality assurance.
Performs other duties as assigned.
