About this role

The Vascular Sonographer performs high-quality non-invasive vascular diagnostic procedures to evaluate venous and arterial systems. This role utilizes duplex ultrasound, physiologic testing, spectral analysis, and color Doppler imaging. It supports accurate diagnosis and patient care across all age groups including neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.

Conduct physiologic and duplex ultrasound studies of vascular structures throughout arterial and venous systems, including spectral analysis and color Doppler displays. Perform all appropriate diagnostic procedures for vascular disease evaluation. Accurately document exam findings on media for permanent medical records and physician interpretation.

Maintain complete and accurate patient charts, logs, and documentation for billing, compliance, and quality assurance. Operate and maintain vascular ultrasound imaging equipment safely and effectively. Comply with departmental, hospital, and regulatory policies while participating in off-hours call coverage as required.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • RVT (Registered Vascular Technologist) through the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) required; candidates not registered must obtain within one year of hire
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers required from AHA, ARC, or Military Training Network
  • Knowledge of vascular anatomy, physiology, and pathology
  • Proficiency with vascular ultrasound imaging equipment and non-invasive diagnostic techniques
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with physicians and clinical teams
  • Strong attention to detail, documentation accuracy, and patient-focused care
