About this role

The Cardiac Sonographer role at UW Health is based at Swedish American Hospital in Rockford. The position is 80% FTE with a Monday-Friday schedule of 8am-4:40pm and occasional on-call coverage.

Daily work centers on performing cardiac ultrasound procedures for patients while following established protocols. The sonographer operates imaging equipment, prepares patients, and ensures high-quality diagnostic images are captured.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited sonographer training program (Preferred)
Must provide copy of HS diploma or equivalent, or highest level of completed degree obtained (Required)
Previous cardiac sonography experience (Preferred)
Must obtain registration as a Registered Cardiac Sonographer through ARDMS or CCI within two years of hire date (Required)
BLS (Required)

Responsibilities

Perform cardiac ultrasound examinations following established protocols
Prepare patients and operate sonography equipment to obtain diagnostic images
Document findings and maintain accurate patient records
Provide on-call coverage as needed for urgent cardiac imaging
Ensure equipment is maintained and quality standards are met
