Join the growing BILH team and make a difference in people’s lives. Under the supervision of the Lead Technologist, perform a variety of Diagnostic Vascular Ultrasound exams and procedures. Produce images for diagnosis and treatment across OR, ER, in- and outpatient populations.

Obtain and document necessary patient information or history to perform appropriate exams. Track patients with 100% accuracy using the Radiology Information System from arrival through exam completion and departure. Utilize PACS work list to confirm patient demographics and accession numbers.

Evaluate images for diagnostic purposes, recognizing anatomy and pathology to determine need for additional images. Ensure quality control of exams using PACS and accurately follow department standards and protocols. Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients and colleagues.

Contribute to the team approach for optimal patient care with courteous interactions. Participate in departmental quality improvement activities and complete mandatory education. Be flexible with overtime, off-sites, holiday, and on-call rotation as needed.

Requirements

  • RDMS required
  • Must attain RVT or RVS certification within 18 months of hire
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • Graduate of two-year AMA accredited School of Diagnostic Ultrasound or grandfathered with ability to display competencies
  • Proficient in the use of Ultrasound equipment
  • Competent in recognizing anatomy and pathology
  • 1-2 years in a large hospital setting preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of Diagnostic Vascular Ultrasound exams and procedures to produce images for diagnosis and treatment
  • Obtain and document necessary patient information or history to perform appropriate exam or procedure
  • Perform all Ultrasound exams with 100% accuracy
  • Track patients using the Radiology Information System (RIS) with 100% accuracy from arrival through departure
  • Utilize the PACS Ultrasound work list to determine patient demographics and accession number with 100% accuracy
  • Ensure quality control of exams by using PACS
  • Evaluate images for diagnostic purposes, recognizing anatomy and pathology
