Perform diagnostic cardiac examinations using various ultrasound modes to locate, evaluate, and record cardiovascular data. As a clinical expert in Cardiac Sonography, conduct high-skill exams like Echocardiograms for Mitral Valve Clip, TAVR, Stress Echocardiograms, 3D volumes, and strain analysis at least 50% of the time. Participate in lab accreditation and quality improvement processes.

Work in a collaborative environment with physicians, advanced providers, and support staff committed to patient care. Foster a culture grounded in inclusion, empathy, sincerity, and determination. Meet teams where they are to serve each other and the community.

Mentor other Cardiac Sonographers as a subject matter expert and role model. Assist in teaching students, residents, fellows, and new employees. Support workflow, scheduling, equipment maintenance, and professional development opportunities.

Requirements

ARDMS certification allowing practice within cardiac sonography scope
Recognition as clinical expert in Cardiac Sonography
Proficiency in high skill level exams including TAVR, Mitral Valve Clip Echocardiograms, stress echoes, 3D volumes, and strain analysis
Experience participating in IAC lab accreditation and quality improvement processes
Thorough understanding of clinical indications for cardiovascular procedures
Ability to detect malfunctions, diseases, and create recordings for analysis per lab protocols
Skills in mentoring sonographers and teaching trainees

Responsibilities

Perform diagnostic cardiac examinations utilizing equipment in various modes to evaluate anatomical, pathological, and functional cardiovascular data
Conduct high skill level ultrasound exams including Echocardiograms for Mitral Valve Clip and TAVR, Stress Echocardiograms, LV/RV 3D volumes, and strain analysis at least 50% of the time
Participate in lab accreditation process and quality improvement/assurance process
Serve as subject matter expert and mentor for other Cardiac Sonographers, acting as professional and technical role model
Assist in teaching students, residents, fellows, and new employees
Assist with workflow, scheduling, and rescheduling of exams when necessary
Assist with equipment service needs including preventative maintenance and repair
Independently perform all cardiovascular diagnostic examinations within ARDMS scope of practice and complete findings per IAC standards
