About this role

We are seeking an MRI Technologist, sometimes referred to as an MRI Tech. The MRI Technologist will operate magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) equipment to capture detailed images of patients' internal organs, tissues, and structures. They play a critical role in the diagnostic process by producing high-quality images that help physicians diagnose and treat various medical conditions.

This per diem position offers variable hours on days shift at St. Joseph Medical Center in Kansas City, MO. Prepare patients for MRI scans by explaining the procedure, addressing concerns, and screening for contraindications like metal implants or pacemakers. Position patients correctly and select imaging parameters for clear images.

Adhere to strict safety protocols to protect patients and staff from MRI hazards such as strong magnetic fields. Monitor vital signs during scans, adjust parameters, and perform multiple imaging sequences for different views. Administer contrast agents intravenously and watch for adverse reactions.

Requirements

  • ARMRIT or ARRT(MR) certification
  • Certified in one other modality
  • Current BCLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and remain current
  • Graduate of a JRCERT approved Radiologic Technology Program or MRI course
  • Proficient computer skills

  • Perform routine quality assurance checks on MRI equipment to ensure optimal performance and image quality
