About this role

Performs a variety of imaging procedures under the clinical direction of a Radiologist, Cardiologist or Surgeon. This role supports cardiovascular lab and ultrasound functions at Catawba Valley Health System. No previous experience required, with training provided for proficiency.

Daily tasks include conducting cardiovascular sonography and lab imaging using specialized equipment. Incumbents gain on-the-job experience to master all position aspects within three months. Works closely with skilled medical staff in a high-technical care environment.

Joins a team at the region’s largest not-for-profit community hospital with 258 beds serving the Hickory area. Collaborates with medical specialists using state-of-the-art technology for seamless care. Contributes to comprehensive services across specialties like cancer care and neonatal intensive care.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic technology program or Computed Tomography/Magnetic Resonance technology program or Nuclear Medicine technology program or Sonography technology program
  • Current ARRT, ARRT(N), ARRT(MR), ARRT(CT), or ARDMS, or CNMT registration
  • BCLS certification; AHA certification required within one month if not already held
  • No previous experience required
  • Nuclear Medicine technologist registered in PET or Cardiac
  • CVL/US technologist holding 3 or more registries
  • CT/MR technologist competent and performing both modalities

Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of imaging procedures under the clinical direction of a Radiologist, Cardiologist or Surgeon
  • Conduct cardiovascular ultrasound studies including echocardiography and vascular imaging
  • Assist in cardiovascular lab procedures such as stress testing and Doppler assessments
  • Operate sonography equipment proficiently after training
  • Maintain imaging standards in compliance with clinical protocols
  • Support seamless care coordination between providers and hospital specialists
