About this role

The Thompson Institute is a leading research facility dedicated to advancing understanding of brain and mental health through innovative translational imaging. Equipped with state-of-the-art imaging technology, it brings together researchers, clinicians, and participants for high-impact research on prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of mental health conditions. A motivated Radiographer is sought for a casual role to support these efforts.

In this position, you will perform high-quality imaging procedures in line with established protocols and safety standards. You will prepare and support participants throughout procedures, delivering a safe, respectful, and patient-focused experience. Safe and effective operation of imaging equipment is essential.

You will work collaboratively with research and clinical teams to meet imaging requirements. This dynamic, multidisciplinary environment demands adaptability and attention to detail. Accurate records and data integrity support successful research outcomes.

Requirements

  • Appropriate tertiary qualifications in Medical Imaging and eligibility for registration with the Medical Radiation Practice Board of Australia (AHPRA)
  • Demonstrated experience in MRI and/or diagnostic imaging (experience in a research environment highly regarded)
  • Strong understanding of imaging protocols, safety standards, and patient care
  • Ability to work flexibly and independently in a casual capacity
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
