About this role
This position is for an MRI Technologist I at Arkansas Children's, a dedicated pediatric healthcare system. As a member of the MRI Technology team, you will develop the skills needed to produce high-quality diagnostic MRI exams in a safe, timely manner while prioritizing exceptional patient care.
Your day-to-day work involves performing diagnostic MRI scans as directed by Radiologists, using correct scan protocols to optimize image quality while minimizing scan length and repeat procedures. You will also screen patients, families, and staff for MRI contraindications and pregnancy, ensuring comprehensive safety compliance.
You will be part of a collaborative environment that emphasizes adherence to all TJC, state, federal, and local regulatory standards. The role includes maintaining a properly organized work area and developing troubleshooting skills to report malfunctioning equipment.
This night shift position (Monday-Thursday, 8pm-6:30am) offers an opportunity to grow within a leading pediatric network, with support to obtain your ARRT MRI certification within two years of hire.
Requirements
- No prior experience required.
- Ability to obtain MRI Specialist certification (ARRT - MRI) within 2 years of hire.
- Must pass a drug screening and comply with this safety-sensitive position (no current use of medical marijuana).
- Availability to work Night Shift, Monday-Thursday 8pm-6:30am.
- Must comply with Arkansas Children's tobacco-free workplace and flu vaccination requirements.
Responsibilities
- Develop skills to perform diagnostic MRI scans as directed by Radiologists.
- Use correct scan protocols to optimize image quality and reduce scan length and repeat procedures.
- Screen patients, families, and staff for pregnancy and MRI contraindications.
- Adhere to all safety recommendations regarding MRI.
- Ensure the work area is properly maintained and organized.
- Learn to troubleshoot and report malfunctioning equipment.
- Comply with all TJC, state, federal, and local regulatory laws, standards, and protocols.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
